Age Policy
Montreal Casino admits adults only, and the line sits firmly at 19. We check age before every deposit, and any account found in a minor's hands gets closed.
Keeping the floor 19+
Adults only. Opening an account, depositing or playing any game for real money all need you to be 19 at minimum.
- One rule for every player: 19+.
- No one may open or use an account on behalf of someone younger.
- Giving your login to a minor breaks our Terms of Service.
- Our marketing is aimed at adults and is never designed to appeal to children.
- Players join us only from places where it is legal under local law. On identity, age verification and anti-money laundering, we follow Canadian rules.
Acting when we find a minor
We take immediate action if we learn that a person holding an account is under 19.
- The account is closed straight away.
- Any winnings become void and are withheld.
- Where the law permits, deposits go back to whatever method paid them in.
- When legally obliged, we pass information on to the authorities.
- If an adult gave a minor access to an account, the adult's account is closed too.
Fast, firm and final. Underage play has no place on our floor.
Using parental controls and filters
Parents and guardians hold the strongest tools of all. Most devices, browsers and home routers come with controls that block gambling sites.
- Activate the parental control settings on phones, tablets and computers.
- Use a filtering service or router setting that blocks gambling categories.
- Set app store age classifications so gambling apps cannot be installed.
- Create separate user profiles for children, with no saved passwords.
- Have honest conversations with young people about gambling, and explain why it is limited to adults.
Concerned that a young person is gambling? GameSense, BetGuard, Gambling Therapy, 211 Alberta and ConnexOntario offer free, confidential guidance for families. Search for them by name.
Checking every player's age
Ticking a box is not enough for us. Before any deposit is accepted:
- Identity checks confirm your date of birth and full name.
- We can request a current government-issued document with your photo.
- We use geolocation to confirm where you are playing from.
- We match the name on your payment method to the name on your account.
Accounts stay locked for deposits until these checks pass. If anything later suggests a player may be under 19, we pause the account and check again. Our Anti-Money Laundering Policy lists the documents we may request.
Guarding shared devices
A tablet the whole family uses, a laptop on the kitchen table: screens are shared at home. Make sure nobody under 19 can get to the casino.
- Log out after every session.
- Never let your browser save your casino password.
- Use a screen lock with a code only you know.
- Do not leave the casino open in a browser tab.
- Keep your email account and payment cards secure, since they can unlock your casino account.
- Clear saved site data on shared devices. Our Cookies and Tracking page explains what we store on your device.
A few seconds of care at the end of a session closes the door for good.
